Introducing Navigate’s Amazing Skein of Mediators
Do you, or does anyone you know, have a small tension, tiny conflict or tangled-up thing with someone else, that could use a little bit of support to work through?
Get in touch with us through hello@navigate.org.uk
A long long time ago, Navigate began training up an incredible group of people in the art of mediation. In an eclectic combination of community centres, as well as zoom rooms, parks and living rooms, we’ve been diving deep into the paradigm of transformative conflict & justice, honing in on the micro-moments in a mediation process, and exploring the ways to support people who find themselves in a tension or conflict. The training grew and grew like neverending porridge, as we found more and more aspects of conflict transformation and becoming a mediator that we wanted to share and explore together. This incredible group of people rolled through role play after role play, with conflicts about theories of change and decision making, power dynamics and friendship breakdowns - building their understanding of this work and developing their capacity to embody it. This group has been working long and hard to integrate what it takes to show up for people, completely on everyone’s side, utterly faithful to the possibility of transformation, ready to stay close to folks and engage with what’s been really difficult, to bring about healing and transformation.
Finally, with much fierce dedication to learning and being changed by this paradigm and work, we are absolutely delighted to share that we have our first graduates ready and raring to show up for people in tension and conflict. People are graduating when we believe they’re ready, so you can be sure that this Skein is full of folks who have fully showed up, integrated the learning, and can offer the support that’s needed in conflicts.
If you have a conflict, or even better, the very beginnings of a conflict - maybe with a friend or colleague, we invite you to get in touch for some early-doors mediation. You might not even call it a conflict, but maybe something a bit tricky or sticky, or challenging in some way. So often, people wait until things get really bad before getting support. Reaching out sooner often means a much smoother, much more easeful process and outcome. So we want to hear from you at the beginning!
The Basics
